"The CoE is made up of 47 member states. Yet, there are also countries with status of observer, and each state has its peculiarities. There are certain standards that are to be fulfilled. At the same time, we should take into account the specific nature of each country and the fact that many states learned the democracy several decades ago. The Council of Europe pays much attention to the feeling of tolerance, and the monitoring commission supervises whether all the normative acts are adjusted to the international standards," the European official said.
