“By the way: gloves are not at all as expensive as you might think! As with all products there are different manufacturers, it is worthwhile to compare costs. When they are ordered in bulk, money can usually be saved. And calculations show that an employer must only invest about 1% of his/her total sales in order to protect the employees.”

However, the protective gloves can only offer this protection when you have the appropriate gloves for the potentially harmful activity.

Huwa veru li l-ingwanti kontra l-ilma jagħmlu l-għaraq u dan ma jgħinx lill-ġilda għax tista’ tixxotta lill-ġilda. Madanakollu, din mhix raġuni valida biex ma tilbisx ingwanti għax il-kuntatt mal-kimiċi taż-żebgħa tax-xagħar, max-xampù u mal-kimiċi tat-tindif jirrita lill-ġilda ħafna aktar.
It is true that sweating in waterproof gloves is also hard on the skin, because it can dry out the skin. That is, however, no reason not to wear gloves, because contact to hair colouring agents, shampoo and cleaning agents irritates the skin much more.

But in their daily tasks the hands are exposed to many skin-damaging materials, e.g. hair colouring agents, shampoo and water. At the latest, you will notice when the skin acquires a disease that healthy skin is not always a given.

No one can work in gloves that are too small or too large! Gloves that are too large do not afford sufficient tactile sensitivity, and in gloves that are too small the hands grow tired quickly. Further, it is worth your while to try out gloves from different manufacturers. Just as when buying shoes, it is a good idea to try on different models and sizes. Innota! Għalkemm l-ilma għandu valur ta’ pH newtrali, minħabba l-kuntatt fit-tul dan xorta jista’ jagħmel ħsara lill-ġilda. Minħabba li l-ilma huwa pH newtrali, dan jista’ jwassal għal żieda żgħira fl-aċidità tal-valur tal-pH (bejn wieħed u ieħor 5.5).
Please note! Because of its neutral pH value, long contact with water can also harm the skin. Water, because it is pH neutral, can lead to a slight increase in the slightly acidic skin pH value (ca. 5.5). Through this process the skin loses its acidic qualities, resulting in a reduction in protection against germs.

The epidermis is the outer layer which protects the body from environmental influences. The outer skin or epidermis has no blood circulation, for the blood vessels first appear in the dermis which is found underneath it. The dermis contains various cell structures (e.g. blood vessels, hair roots, sweat glands) and many elastic fibers. Under the dermis is located the subcutis, which consists of nutrient reservoirs (the fat cell tissue) and affords protection against cold and pressure.
