“Roedd y rhan fwyaf o'r plant ar y teithiau'n dod o drefi a dinasoedd ac fe wnaethon nhw fwynhau sblasio drwy nentydd, pyllau dŵr a llwyth o fwd,” meddai'r ffermwr Jack Cockburn.
“The majority of the children on the walks were from towns and cities and they enjoyed splashing through streams, puddles and lots of mud” said farmer Jack Cockburn.

“Bu'r teithiau'n help wrth gael pobl i feddwl am sut mae bwyd yn cael ei gynhyrchu ac am ei siwrnai i gyrraedd y defnyddiwr. Cawson ni fod pobl yn dechrau cyffroi wedyn am roi cynnig ar ein cig organig ac am chwilota am fwydydd organig eraill.
“The walks helped to engage people into thinking about how food is produced and the journey it takes in getting to the consumer. We found people got excited then about trying our organic meat and searching out other local foods”

Over 100 children and adults from all over the UK took part in guided farm walks over the summer holidays. The walks took place at Treberfedd Organic Farm, near Dihewyd, Lampeter and were led by farmer Jack Cockburn and stockman Will Michell. A total of 13 groups of people, all staying in the holiday cottages at the farm, were given a tour of the farm land and woodlands at Treberfedd.

Gall rhywbeth syml, fel casglu wyau gan yr ieir, fod yn llawn hud a lledrith i blentyn sydd erioed wedi gwneud hynny o'r blaen. Mae'r teithiau ar y fferm yn eu helpu i ymgysylltu â chefn gwlad o'u cwmpas ac yn eu hysgogi i ofyn llawer o gwestiynau am y da byw a ffermio'n gyffredinol,” meddai Jack y ffermwr.
“We aim to make the walks as fun as possible for the children and they learn a lot about farming and how food is produced along the way. Just something simple like collecting eggs from the hens can be quite magical to a child who has never done that before. The farm walks help to connect them with the countryside around them and it gets them asking lots of questions about the livestock and farming in general” said farmer Jack.
