Produciamo vino, ortaggi, nocciole, fragole e prepariamo confetture e antipasti piemontesi.
My small farm is situated in the foothills of the Alps in Biella at an altitude of 600m in the Sessera valley. It is an ideal place for people who love peace and quiet and walking in the woods. Activities here are mainly with the animals, we have 4 Jersey cows, calves, goats, dogs, cats and chickens. We make cheese which we sell in the local markets. I also have a small agritourism. Every day we care for the animals, the house and cooking and then depending on the season there is also grass cutting, hay making, caring for the vegetable garden….. I do not consider this as work but more as a choice of faith, we try to live with respect for the cosmos which builds the rapport between man, animals, vegetation and the visible and invisible worlds. I am vegetarian and offer accommodation in a room with shared bathroom. I speak English, French and Spanish. Gay friendly. Amma is my guide, but you are welcome whatever your faith.

We are a family of 3, my husband, myself and our daughter of 17. Last year we bought this house which is situated amongst the hills of Montefeltro, in the municipality of San Leo, 3 km from San Marino. The land has been abandoned for several years, there is an orchard and a vineyard that we would like to reclaim and also we want to make an organic garden with a greenhouse. We are vegetarians and attend an Ashram (meditation centre) that is located 1 km from the house. We make ethnic jewellery and games for children which we sell in craft markets. The house is cozy and we have a double bedroom for you and, if necessary, a camper. Siete i benvenuti!

This has been an organic farm since 2006 and we cultivate cereals, vegetables, fruit trees, a small vineyard and woodland. On the farm you can experience and compare old and new farming techniques, we use non intensive methods of farming and pay great attention to quality and respect for the soil. The farm was my dream, I am a teacher and after 25 years of working in nursery schools, recreation centres and as a theatrical entertainer, felt the need to show that there is another way, there are other flavours, rhythms, sounds, nuances and emotions. The fundamental issue at the centre of the farm are the educational and creative activities and importance of food for children and adults in these days. We organize workshops emphasising the importance of manual activities. The meetings with an artisan offer workshops in various fields (carpentry, DIY solar panels). There is a very friendly family atmosphere.

We are looking for people now to help in the garden, with foraging and planting shrubs. This farm is made up of two properties: 1) on the Padana plain at Casale di Scodosia and 2) at Battaglia Terme inside the Parco Regionale dei Colli Euganei - Ca Vecchia. 1) The farm (26 hectares) consists of the outbuildings of the 7th century Venetian villa Correr and is an oasis for wildlife. A forest of oaks, hazelnuts, walnuts, ash, alder and paulownie covers half of the land. A hectare is kept for the wildlife. Twelve hectares are cultivated with soya, maize, wheat and lucerne. In the vineyard there are chicken and goose houses, and between the kiwi vines is the shed for the donkeys, cows and sheep. The rabbits have their own fenced area outdoors. This is also an agritourism and farm school. 2) Agriturismo Ca Vecchia consists of 50 hectares of woodland in the Parco Regionale dei Colli Euganei 1 km from Catajo Castle, which the agritourism was once part of. There is a nature reserve within which is the "Erbario del Monte Ceva". English, French and Greek spoken.

On this farm we grow grapes for wine production, we have 50 ha of land, on 30 of which we grow grapes (cert. Soil and Health) and the other 20 are forest. The farm has an ancient tradition, wine has been produced here since the mid-1800s. My father bought it in 1973 and I, a woman have run it since 1990. On the farm, besides myself there are 4 permanent employees plus other seasonal workers who help during the harvest, pruning, tying and other jobs in the vineyard that are all done by hand. We are willing to receive WWOOFers throughout the year, it is clear that in the winter season (November-February) in the vineyard there is less work to do, because if it snows and the weather is bad we stop. The most interesting time to work in the vineyard is definitely the harvest (September). In the winter season we have more work in the office (especially sales area) and more demonstrations/events to attend. My house is on the farm, I have room to host up to 2 people, We speak English, French, Spanish.

On the farm there is a "Museum of Rural Civilization in Val Vibrata", a collection of tools and objects that were used in our area up until a few decades ago ... We speak Italian, English and Thai and we have internet connection. The main jobs are those related to the vineyard (pruning, removing leaves etc,) and the cellar (harvesting and bottling). Then there is the olive harvest and the care of the vegetable and the garden.

Ciao, we are a couple who are finally realising our dream! Our adventure began four years ago as WWOOFers when we exchanged experiences and work practices on organic farms, and today we want to continue as hosts with the same enthusiastic spirit with new WWOOFers. We are doing a two-year course in Permaculture, our project will have zero impact on the environment, - experimentation and the search for alternative solutions is our goal. Our farm is located in Torre Guaceto State Natural Reserve. The habitat consists of wetlands, coastal dunes, Mediterranean marquis, pristine beaches where turtles nest, age-old olive groves and countryside. We have small restaurant and produce vegetables - using synergic and organic methods, olive oil and have a small fruit and almond orchard. The story of this farm will be the story of all those who participate in the completion of the project. Accommodation a double or triple room, or camping in the summer. You can reach us by train (to Ostuni or Brindisi), by plane or by bus. Languages spoken: a little English and French.

Our farm is located in the hills overlooking the Golfo di Castellammare. You can get here by train or bus to Partinico or Alcamo. I live here with my husband and our two children, my parents and the family of N., who works with us on the farm. We cultivate about 17 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and arable land from which we produce wine, olive oil, vegetables and fruit. We have been organic for more than twenty years and we are always open to new environmentally friendly and sustainable methods. Help is always welcome especially during the olive harvest (October and November) and grape harvest (September). We also need help with pruning the vines and fruit trees, removing suckers from the olive trees, transplanting and sowing vegetables. Accommodation is in our house, in an independent room with bathroom. We eat all meals together, using mainly vegetables, grains and legumes and any help is welcome in the kitchen. We are in the heart of western Sicily: Palermo, Trapani, Segesta, Selinunte, Monreale, the Zingaro Nature Reserve are within easy reach. We like the idea of sharing with others the place where we have decided to live. My mother is American, my husband is Finnish, N. and his family Albanian and we like the idea of having the world come to our house! We speak English, Spanish, Finnish, Albanian.

It consists of 9 hectares of which 3 are olive grove (550 trees), a small vineyard, chestnut wood, 2 has of pasture and the rest is woodland. The farm has been organic since 1982, when I started. The main agricultural work is from September to April, starting with the grape harvest, then the chestnut, wild mushroom and olives harvests (until Christmas). In January there is wood to be cut in the woodland and then the vines and until the end of April the olives need to be pruned. In the summer I offer rural hospitality and there is a small room available for WWOOFers. In the summer months there is work in the vegetable garden, kitchen and with hay-making. I have one Monte Amiata donkey, a Marremana horse, 4 goats, chickens and some beehives. German, English, French and a little Dutch spoken. Accommodation in room with bathroom. The farm is situated in a small mediaeval hamlet in the hills between Castiglion Fiorentino and Cortona. I am not vegetarian, but I like to offer vegetarian meals.
We are a family of four people: a couple (34 and 33 years) and two children aged 6 and 4 and we are on the southeast coast of Sardinia. The main crop is 3 hectares of citrus fruits. For family use we also grow vegetables, wheat, olives, almonds, grape for wine and mushrooms. We are experimenting with saffron and avocado. The main work is the management of the citrus trees (harvest, pruning, irrigation ...), we will also need help in the garden and the vineyard, for pruning olive trees, with firewood, cleaning of common areas and other activities, depending on need. The crops are not in a single plot, but are split into different plots of land that can be reached by car or, in some cases, if you wish, by bicycle. We offer different possibilities for accommodation, depending on our needs and preferences: - in the house (small town, with the main services), in a single room, with wifi; - In a house next to ours, if you want more privacy; - In the countryside, in a small caravan. We love traveling, hiking and we like to cook. We often prepare meals with our products, such as bread, pizza and fresh pasta using our Cappelli wheat and with our own vegetables. At home, the cuisine is basically vegetarian, but for those who want there will be opportunity to taste typical Sardinian dishes. After traveling as WWOOFers ourselves, we decided to become hosts. We look and ask for cooperation, exchange of ideas and knowledge. In addition to Italian and Sardinian, we can communicate in Spanish, French and a little English.

Ciao a tutti! I am Edoardo a young wine-maker (27 years old) who has just opened a wine-growing farm on the slopes of the Alps, in Domodossola (17 km from Switzerland and 120 km from Milan). Before being a host I was a wwoofer and I really enjoyed the experience. I like to exchange ideas, see new perspectives, and live in the midst of nature. At the moment I have about one hectare of vineyard (Nebbiolo and Merlot), some sheep and goats. I would like to meet motivated people who want to share experiences and learn together. The best time to come and see me is from spring (March) until Autumn (October - November) I can teach you how to manage the vegetable garden, about wine production and winemaking. Each month there is a different job to be done on the farm: from harvesting fruits and vegetables to making wine. There is no minimum time: whoever wants will be welcome in my farm for 1 hour to 1 month, obviously the more time we spend together the more things you will see / learn. I speak English, Spanish and Italian. It is not all work, there are also many other attractions: mountain walks, spas, ziplines and lakes. On the farm there is a house with kitchen and bathroom on the first floor and bedroom upstairs.

This is a family run farm run by ourselves and our two children (90 and '93) in the hills in the Valle d'Aosta. Our agriculture is organic, and in recent years we have focused also on biodynamic. We have vineyards, and especially grow native species of vines, make the wine on the farm, have pasture, an orchard, grow all sorts of vegetables, and raise farm animals. We are just finishing building an agritourism. We have, together with friends, the intention to recover abandoned land in our area to cultivate vegetables and cereals. We need help throughout the year, from pruning to harvesting the grapes. The jobs to be done depend on the season, and we also be pick flowers here and in the mountains. We speak Italian and French, and a bit of English. We welcome WWOOFers who want to share this life with us, we can accommodate you in two double rooms in an apartment in our house, the minimum stay is 10 days. In your spare time there are many walks in the mountains and the opportunity to go to concerts in our area, some of us are folk musicians.

A family farm which has been cultivated for generations of about 45 hectares of land, of which 18 are vineyards and 1 is olive grove. We are a young couple and we are the custodians of this land which we cultivate through organic and biodynamic farming; there is a youthful spirit throughout the farm. We are a few kilometers from Lucca. The main activities take place in the vineyard and in the wine cellar: those interested in learning the art of winemaking can follow the stages of cultivation and the processing of the grapes. For those interested in the activities of the agritourism you can participate and help during the wine tastings organized for our guests and work together doing small gardening jobs around the farm. We can accommodate up to 2 wwoofers at a time up to a maximum of one month. Accommodation, which is in rooms in a two-story building next to the office with canteen which is used and shared by everyone, is three bedrooms and one bathroom, lunches are shared but for other meals wwoofers are autonomous and during the grape harvest meals will be eaten with the interns on the farm. We ask you to help with the cleaning of communal areas. You may find yourselves working with people who work on the farm and with the people with whom you share the apartment. The harvest and all types of work are very challenging but carried out with enthusiasm. Public transportation in our area is quite good, there is the WiFi in some rooms.

This is a farm of 35 hectares, situated on a hill at the foot of an oak forest, and protected to the north by a high mountain, Volturino, which comes right down to the stone houses, and there the oak forest stops and there are olive grove, a vineyard, apple orchard and fields of wheat and corn. To the south is the Agri valley, while to the east is the medieval village of Marsicovetere. Finally, there is wild pasture, an underground spring and a magic circle with a large oak tree in the centre. The farm is certified organic by ICEA and in recent years we have also been using biodynamic methods. We have horses and poultry and cultivate forage crops in rotation to help the soil fertility. The farm was also called La terra di Nancy and has been running for 20 years to promote the development of eco-friendly initiatives and human development. On this theme we also organize seminars and workshops aimed at achieving well being and also on the development of organic and biodynamic farming, maintenance of biodiversity, research and testing of energy saving building techniques. English spoken.

We are five brothers aged between 25 and 40. We cultivate the land that our family has had for three generations in the hills a few kilometers from the shore of Lake Garda. On a 25-hectare estate we produce wine, oil and local ancient varieties of cereals, and we grow fodder for our horses. Our riding school offers lessons for children on horseback riding and activities, and offers programs for youths and adults with disabilities, in collaboration with local institutions and associations. The farm is open for visits, courses, events and tastings, and there is a farm shop where we sell our produce. Through organic farming, the care of the vineyards and the manual and high quality processing techniques of our products we work hard to offer a good and healthy product, whilst safeguarding the health of the soil and the integrity of the landscape. You will be asked to participate in the work in the vineyard and in the countryside, maintenance and support in the wine making activities, and collaborate during events and tastings. Accommodation is in a private room with bathroom and shower, connected to our house. In the summer we like to cook outdoors and entertain the friends that pass through, so there will always be activity here. If you are looking for peace you can always have a private space and quiet to relax. The farm is located in open countryside, surrounded by vineyards and woods. You can easily reach the neighbouring villages by bicycle (there are two at your disposal) through the bike path that runs through the property. For trips to other cities we are available to take you to the nearest bus stop or train.

This 24 ha farm situated at the foot of the hills was abandoned for 30 years before we bought it in 2005 and our aim is to bring it back to life. It is 6 kms from the sea, 15 kms from Etna, 20 kms from Taormina and 30 from Catania. 100 meters from the farm the train which connects all the villages around Etna passes. Apart from the citrus orchard the farm has been totally replanted and has been organic since the begining, now we are gradually starting to use biodynamic methods. Our main activities, depending on the season, are caring for the 4 ha citrus orchard (clementines and small collection of varied citrus), 2,5 ha vineyard, fruit orchard, olive grove and pomegranate orchard. We have a vegetable garden for vegetables for our own consumption and we exchange excess. We have cats, dogs, 2 donkeys, chickens, turkeys and geese. We have a small centre in the old house and have two apartments there that we rent and are planning to convert more. Our main aim is to find a lifestyle which is different to urban living, all the renovation work has been done with great respect for energy conservation and we have solar panels. We need help in the house, with the animals, in the vegetable garden and sometimes for pruning and harvesting. When we started out we were a group of friends but over time everyone has taken different pathways and only Cinzia and Diego are here now to run the farm. Accommodation in room in the house where we share the kitchen and or in a tent, we prefer people to stay for longer periods. We eat together at lunch and take turns with cooking mainly vegetarian meals, anyone who has a particular diet can cook their own meals. We speak Spanish and some English and French.

This is a farm with an old stone farmhouse run by a young couple, with others. It is located in the mountains at an altitude of 500 meters, 5 km from Tredegar (FC), and is in a valley near the Tramazzo Casentino National Park. On the farm we cultivate fields, orchards, a chestnut wood, a small vineyard, fruit trees, meadows and woods. The activities are varied and seasonal, eg. harvesting the chestnuts, planting and caring for the garden, constructing fences, sheds, etc, collecting firewood and varied maintenance jobs. We also have accommodation for tourists, a campsite and a small restaurant. We specialise in using local produce, baking bread in the wood burning oven, using local produce and preserving our own produce. We have pets as well as a few goats and a couple of pigs. The farm is also a timber workshop. We hold an important rural festival here in the summer and actively participate in initiatives to promote the territory and in festivals in the area. The farm is in the the Slow Food accommodation guide. It is always better to contact us by phone or give us a telephone number we can call you back on.

This farm is located in the south-east of Sardinia in Muravera and is divided into two parts: one is in the citrus orchard of Muravera and the other in Valle del Rio Porceddus. I cultivate an old vineyard and produce wine, I hope to enlarge the vineyard in the near future. I also cultivate olives and citrus trees. There is a woodland to maintain and we are planning to plant a garden. Another project is to plant a garden which needs very little irrigation. Help needed with pruning, clearing suckers, cleaning between the rows in the vineyard, olive grove and citrus orchard, cleaning the forest, picking fruit and olives, wine, planting and care of the garden and orchard. I am not here all the time but at certain times of year with the biodynamic calendar there is a lot to be done, especially at planting times. Due to this we request stays of at least a week or alternatively for the weekend if you can return a few times and so set up a more useful and meaningful presence on the farm. Accommodation for two people in a caravan, food is vegetarian, a little English and German spoken.

I am a little over 60 years old and run this 9 ha farm on my own.
Since 2005 I have worked on this small organic farm in the woods;since 2013 together with my partner, a beekeeper. I am bringing two young large olive groves into production using principles of permaculture and produce a tasty extra vergine olive oil. We have vegetable garden, a forest garden, bees, vineyard and chickens. The farm is immersed in marquis and woodland and we cut and sell firewood and harvest the many species of herbs and berries. I want to enlarge the garden, build a chicken house, start a workshop with the principles of permaculture and biodynamics. I happy to share this humane system of farming with people who like to celebrate the joys of life, working together and visiting parts of Tuscany. There are always things to be done, caring for the people who sometimes come here, maintaining the living areas, caring for the animals, the bees, pruning and harvesting the olives, in the vegetable garden and young fruit orchard, with wood cutting, with teaching etc. etc. I speak a little French and English and would be happy to practice using them!
This farm and the surrounding land in the past was part of the Castle of Trevinano. The rural building dates from the early eighteenth century and is located in the extreme and unspoiled Alta Tuscia, the crossroads that characterizes the conjunction of Lazio with Umbria and fascinating Tuscany. Our vineyard, located at an altitude of 600m is the result of rigorous selection. Cultivation does not require the use of synthetic chemicals, the soil being nourished by green manure and biodynamic preparations. Weeding and much of the work in the vineyards is done manually. The wine is not filtered during bottling, sometimes when needed a small amount of sulfur dioxide is added. The natural composition of the wine is not altered by any treatments. We came to this property in 2007, we are a couple with a child, two dogs and two cats. Besides wine we grow vegetables, fruit and oil for our own use. We ask WWOOFers to help in the everyday management of our farm; things to do are varied and depend on the period. We offer accommodation in a double or single. The nearest town is 1 km.

Our farm is small (5 hectares cultivated) and family-run. We are a family of 5 of which 3 have finished studies and are working abroad. We bought the farm in 1981, after we had been working on a bilateral German project in Africa for some years. In 1981 the farm was converted to organic. Our activities are olives and vines. We do not have animals or a vegetable garden. The work for WWOOFers therefore depends on the season in the vineyard and olive grove, land clearing and grass cutting. August and September are the two months when - due to lack of work and considering the heat - we do not need WWOOFers. The work is not very varied and we therefore only ask for 4 hours a day. Meals are mainly vegetarian and partially organic. Accommodation is in a separate house with shower and W.C and although better than a tent, is rustic. 1 or 2 people for at least one week. Our interests are classical music, reading (we have many books in English, German and Italian) and politics. German, English and French spoken.

Our cooperative was founded in 1980 in Pino d'Asti, on the initiative of the members of the Fraternità Emmaus and some farming friends after having had several years of experience of living in the country and from the conviction that working the land is only possible if done with sharing and cooperation. The cooperative started in 1983 in Albugnano, in Cascina Penseglio, in an old house, surrounded by crops (vineyards, pastures, fields and woods). We are dedicated to cattle breeding and farming: vegetables, vines, cereals, pasture and woods, the farm produces wine and preserves. Since 1987 we have dedicated ourselves also to agritourism to allow many people to enjoy the scenic beauty and tranquility of the farm and to establish a direct relationship between producers and consumers, between the land and food. The wwoofers can stay in the rooms of the farm with shared bathroom, we all eat together, the activities vary according to the season and include activities in the garden, in the vineyard, in the woods, in the barn and the farmhouse. The farm can be reached either by car or once a day there is a bus that comes from Turin or with prior agreement we can pick you up at the stations of Chivasso or Asti.
This farm is located about 400 meters above sea level. Our family settled here in the mid-nineteenth century. In September 2005 we lost our beloved father Aldo. What then seemed like the end was instead the beginning of a wonderful adventure, both in the vineyards and in the human dimension. The desire to keep alive his love for the art of being a farmer kept the farm going. Now we brothers run everything: Devis, Tiziano and Ivano (37, 34 and 19). Ours is a vine-wine-fruit farm, we immediately wanted to bring our ideas and beliefs to working the land in the production of our wine. There must be a balance between what is grown and what is naturally present in the territory. This year we also opened a bed & breakwine with 5 themed rooms and an apartment where we will host WWOOFers. We hope to pass on what we have had handed to us by our predecessors and to be able to engage with our thirst for discovery and innovation. There is work all year round, you can learn everything about vineyards, wine, fruit, vegetable and hospitality but above all we really hope this is primarily a social and cultural exchange. To reach us by public transport: from the bus station in Trento, take the bus or tram 17 to Lavis. We will collect you from there. Languages spoken: English and German as well as Italian.

We are a couple with a child Nina. We live in high valle Staffora (about 500 mt above sea level), where we look after a veg garden, an orchard and a vineyard for family consumption. The rest of our land is woods and pasture for Artù the horse, some geese and hens. Our project is to combine organic agriculture with artistic-spiritual research. We started working on this land few years ago and we built already a straw-bale structure as barn and stable and following bio-architecture we are about to build our home with straw-bale too. At the moment we are organizing to host workshops (yoga, dance, meditation…) during summer and also developing agriculture in a way that suits us and the land we live in. We already host childrens residential camp during June and July. From early spring to late autumn there always stuff to do! Chopping wood, sowing, picking, pruning, harvesting hay and fruits, feeding animals and who is willing can also play with Nina, cook, practice yoga, and dancing. For the guests we have a room in the house we live at the moment which is few minutes walk to the land. We are not vegetarian but with a bit of help we can satisfy every different food habits.
We are Betty and Lorenzo and we live within 5km from Piobbico (Marche, the province of Pesaro Urbino), in a hamlet called Bacciardi with only 6 inhabitants. Here we have realized our dream of opening a farm and raising our two children (Aenea - 9 and Gaia - 7) away from any source of pollution. We have dairy goats, free ranging pigs, bees and poultry and farmyard animals. We grow vegetables and also have a small vineyard. Once a week we make sour dough bread with a mother dough which is 175 years which we bake in our wood-burning oven, to heat the house we decided to use only the wood which we cut into the woods on Monte Nerone. We offer accommodation in a house adjacent to the farmhouse where there are 6 beds and a small bathroom. During the weekend, and every day in summer, our time is occupied by our restaurant- we have two small rooms where we can accommodate about thirty people. On Wednesdays we make pasta. We ask WWOOFers to help collaborate with tasks on the farm, with caring for the animals, in the vegetable garden and with the firewood. We provide bicycles, the nearest village is 5km away. We are very happy to host and share our time with people who love nature and silence and who want to learn different types of activity (there is something for all tastes!). We speak English.

Our small family farm (we are a couple, 1980 and 1985) is located in the Valle Borbera valley with its extraordinary natural features and wildlife. It lies on a plain sheltered from the north winds and is well exposed to the sun. Our farming practice a slow, silent, gentle. We produce food of the highest quality because we use organic old varieties of seeds. In addition to the production of vegetables and wheat we are recovering several small abandoned vineyards. Our wine for us is a testimony, a history to which to cling, a beautiful song that combines a good pace to a deep and moving text, but also a rematch of a very small part of the rural world. We can accommodate two WWOOFers at a time from February to November in a small apartment in Figino; During the summer there is also the possibility, if you wish, to camp in the beautiful grounds near the farm. Guests have the option of learning the concepts of natural agriculture (orchard and vineyard), making jams, home made bread and small handicrafts. Languages spoken: School level English and Genovese. In the era of technology and industry, our farm moves backwards, convinced that in many cases "going back" now represents a move forward.

This is a small family run farm where with the help of my parents we run about 7 hectares of vineyard and 1 of olive grove at Cereseto. I am currently a member of the social winery in the village of Breganze but in the future I intend to make specialist wines. In fact I am dedicating my body and soul to the project that have I created and I wish to achieve: to rediscover old varieties of the local vines of Breganze saving biodiversity and protecting a priceless heritage that the mass production of wine has almost completely erased; to rediscover, plant and make wine from 6 ancient varieties: Gruajo, Pedevenda, Marzemina white, Ottocai, Groppello Breganze and Vespaiola. Obviously spending so much time in the vineyard I have also put down roots here so hosting WWOOFers would give me the opportunity to travel standing still, bringing people here who are doing what I have always loved to do and that for obvious reasons I now cannot do: travel! I practice biodynamics and I want to gradually enlarge this practice to all vineyards. I have 2 dogs, Vento & Petra, and two cats, Mario & Peste. My village is right in the centre of the foothills of the ‘alto vicentino’, between Bassano and Schio, beautiful places in the hills and the neighbouring villages of Bassano, Marostica and Schio. In addition there the Asiago plateau 12 kilometers away.

This is a newly formed cultural association interested in social agricultural. We are "new" to the trade and we would like to get in touch with young people and travellers who can offer their experience and interest to help us make our first steps in this project. We are looking for ”positive contamination" and we can offer accommodation in a very challenging and international environment at a nearby youth hostel which is a part of our project. We are two young people who have escaped from Milan: Matteo (27) and Diana (25), and are supported by many people. We are cultivating different areas in the territory of Zagarolo: at Wiki Hostel we care for a synergic vegetable garden and offer cultural activities and study related to the theme of social farming, in Colle Ristretti on land we have been lent we work we care for a vegetable garden, fruit trees, medicinal plants and herbs. In Acquatraversa we have olive trees and in October 2015 we harvested our first 80 litres of oil. Finally, we have an area where we would like to develop the first biodynamic vineyard in the area, Colle Mainello and manage other plots in the area. Our work is conducted in close contact with the town of Zagarolo: every Sunday we participate in the farmers market that brings together a network of farmers and critical consumers who choose to give priority to food at 0 km. Our choice to cultivate plots of land belonging to people who otherwise would leave them abandoned has a dual purpose: to gain access to the land in an economical and sustainable way, but above all it is an ethical choice, to give new life, defend and protect from possible land speculation and the devastation of the environment.

We are a community of families who decided, in 1998, to share life and experiences in a supportive group, seeking to combine spaces and private moments with experiences of community life. We are part of the association of social promotion ‘Mondo di Comunità e Famiglia’, which promotes a sober lifestyle based on the valuesof openness to others, hospitality and sharing. We live in Tortona hills at 350 mt. above sea level, in a small village of 170 inhabitants, in a farmhouse which we have restored over the years, where we have a lot of activities relating to social solidarity and degrowth. The nearest railway station is 15 km away in Tortona. There are 3 has of vineyards, extensive cultivation of strawberries and various vegetables, a large forest to collect firewood, a community garden, all cared for manually using natural methods and inspired by permaculture. We host WWOOFers from spring to late autumn. The jobs may be in the garden, in the forest, vineyard or with routine maintenance. WWOOFers will be accommodated within the families in personal rooms depending on availability allowing the possibility of being hosted by various families, in order to have a broader view of the community. Languages: English and some French and Portuguese.

On our farm we follow the principles of Rudolph Steiner for Biodynamic farming, we also want to use Permaculture, and we are open to natural experiences of all kinds. Not having farming roots we are learning through continuous trial and error and have had many good results but some setbacks. We have 5 ha. of land with olive trees, vineyards, orchards, woods, greenhouses and we have recently planted a chestnut wood. Our area, as well as being in the centre of the beautiful Umbria and one hour by train from the centre of Rome, is full wild herbs. We do not claim to teach Biodynamics but we can transfer our enthusiasm and the theoretical and practical knowledge we have acquired so far; we can share the basic tasks of biodynamic cultivation such as using green manures and the preparation and use of herbal concoctions. Of course, there is something to be done every day; in the fields, in the workshop, kitchen, etc. .. We therefore need your collaboration to help our farm to grow so that it eventually brings us a modest income as well as the satisfaction it gives us of having good quality results whilst respecting the land, its balance and the fauna. We have Wi Fi but sometimes it is not the best, we also have a swimming pool. Accommodation is in a nearby self contained apartment. We are lovers of healthy Italian food and we are willing, in addition to sharing our table, to share our knowledge of simple and tasty cuisine. The model that we want to achieve is to be farmers, craftsmen, artists for a self-sufficiency that is based also on exchange with our neighbours. We speak in addition to Italian, French and English.
