In 1996 Paolo Radici, an industrialist from Bergamo, while looking for a country retreat not far from the city where he holds key roles in the family business, found in Franciacorta the unexpected opportunity. A stone's throw from Erbusco the house once belonging to Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, one of the most important figures in the international music scene of the Twentieth Century, was on sale. The dwelling is located on a hill that overlooks a magnificent morainic amphitheatre: it's the reign of the vineyards, 10 hectares, a unique cru. That persuasive corner could not avoid reviving Mr Paolo Radici's juvenile dream of making wine, of going from passionate wine expert to wine producer. The cellar was built close to the house, at the feet of the soft slopes of the vineyards, choosing a traditional building which perfectly fits with the surrounding landscape. The spacious underground rooms house all the phases of the production cycle with functionality, satisfying the best technological requirements while the upper floor is devoted to offices and inviting tasting rooms. Paolo Radici is surrounded by a consolidated team of experts: Leonardo Valenti assisted in Franciacorta by Pierluigi Donna is both agronomist and oenologist, Lara Imberti deals with sales and promotes Ronco Calino in Italy and abroad and Alessandro Locatelli and Graziano Buffoli take care of the vineyards and of the cellar.
