From Airolo, the Nufenen Pass Route takes you through the lovely Bedretto Valley and continues across the Nufenen Pass to Oberwald. Airolo is an ideal starting point for hiking, for example the “Strada degli alpi” to the Bedretto Valley. Nufenen is the highest mountain pass open to traffic in Switzerland and offers countless mountain biking and hiking possibilities (PostBus stop Nufenen, Summit). The Border Tour is a special treat for seasoned mountain bikers, while hikers will enjoy the magnificent views from the loop trail across Passo del Corno or on one of the paths across Gries Pass. In the Goms Valley, the villages of Ulrichen, Obergesteln and Oberwald offer a wide variety of activities, such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, biking, or rafting in the upper Rhone river.
