This morning, just after 7:30 AM, Queens District RCMP were called to a two-vehicle collision on Meadowbank Road. The driver of one of the vehicles was observed 'falling out' of the vehicle and then 'stumbling' over the road. The driver was taken back to the Queens District Office at Maypoint and a Standard Field Sobriety Test was administered to the driver resulting in his being arrested for Impaired Driving by Drugs. The driver then refused to submit to a complete drug recognition evaluation. The driver has since been charged with Impaired Driving by Drugs, Refusal, and two additional charges for damage (Mischief) to the Queens District Office, and a marked RCMP police vehicle after becoming combative with police and ultimately kicking out the window of the vehicle.
