Mae'r gwaith ymchwil gan WRAP Cymru, ar ran Llywodraeth Cymru, wedi'i gyhoeddi cyn datganiad cyntaf Lesley Griffiths, Ysgrifennydd y Cabinet dros yr Amgylchedd a Materion Gwledig yn y Senedd, pryd y bydd yn nodi ei blaenoriaeth i greu economi mwy cylchol yng Nghymru. Economi gylchol yw un ble y mae'n bosib i ddeunydd o safon uchel sy'n deillio o wastraff gael ei roi yn ôl i weithgynhyrchwyr Cymru fel deunydd crai eilaidd i'w ddefnyddio i gynhyrchu eto ac eto.

The research by WRAP Cymru, on behalf of the Welsh Government, was published ahead of the Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Rural Affairs, Lesley Griffiths' first statement in the Senedd, during which she set out her priority to create a more circular economy in Wales. It is estimated a circular economy has the potential to create around 30,000 jobs in Wales, with people employed to collect, transport, re-process and re-manufacture these materials, and could have an economic benefit of more than £2billion a year. The Towards Zero Waste strategy is all about making sure valuable material resources are kept in productive use for as long as possible and aligns to the circular economy concept.
