Meddai, “Rydyn ni’n gobeithio’n fawr y bydd trefn newydd cyllido Cymraeg i Oedolion yn dal i roi’r un gefnogaeth i’r canolfannau hyn ag yn y gorffennol, gan gynnig patrwm o gydweithio creadigol.”
He said, “We very much hope that that the new funding arrangements for Welsh for Adults will continue to provide the same support as before for these centres, providing a pattern for creative collaboration,”

Gyda thrafodaethau ar y gweill ynglŷn ag ail-lansiad Y Cymro, mae Dyfodol i’r Iaith yn galw ar i Lywodraeth Cymru roi nawdd digonol i’r papur newydd eiconig hwn er mwyn sicrhau ei ddyfodol a’i ddatblygiad.
With discussions now taking place regarding the relaunch of Y Cymro, Dyfodol i’r Iaith calls upon the Welsh Government to provide adequate support for this iconic newspaper in order to secure its future and its development.

Cychwynnodd Dyfodol i’r Iaith lobio yn sgil gwendid y rheolau TAN20 oedd yn rhoi peth hawl i awdurdodau lleol ystyried y Gymraeg. Dilynwyd hyn gan TAN20 oedd ychydig yn gryfach, ond heb roi sail gyfreithiol gadarn i ystyried y Gymraeg.
Dyfodol i’r Iaith began lobbying in the light of weaknesses in the TAN20 regulations which gave local authorities limited rights to consider the Welsh language. This was followed by a slightly stronger TAN20, but one that still did not give consideration of the language a strong statutory basis.

Mae angen ystyried sut gall siroedd gorllewin Cymru gyfuno i roi polisïau llesol i’r Gymraeg ar waith. Byddai hyn yn cynnwys twf economaidd a chynllunio tai yn ogystal â chynyddu’r defnydd o’r Gymraeg fel iaith gwaith mewn awdurdodau lleol a chyrff eraill.
We need to consider how the counties of west Wales can work together to implement policies for the benefit of the language. This focus would include economic growth and the planning of housing, in addition to increasing the use of Welsh as an administrative language within local government and other bodies.

Mewn dogfen a gyhoeddwyd heddiw mae Dyfodol yn galw am roi cyfrifoldeb statudol ar gorff newydd i ddynodi pob un ward etholaethol yng Nghymru yn ôl ei sensitifrwydd ieithyddol. Byddai’r dynodiad yn amrywio yn ôl nifer y siaradwyr Cymraeg a ffactorau eraill a byddai rhaid i’r corff adolygu’r dynodiad bob pum mlynedd.
In a document published today Dyfodol calls for statutory responsibility to be given to a new body to designate each electoral ward in Wales according to its linguistic sensitivity. The designation would vary according to the number of Welsh speakers and other factors and the body would review the designation every five years.

Yn sgil y gwelliant, bydd rhaid i awdurdodau cynllunio dalu sylw i ystyriaethau yn ymwneud â defnyddio’r Gymraeg wrth benderfynu ar geisiadau cynllunio, lle bo hynny’n berthnasol i’r cais. Mae hyn yn gam mawr ymlaen, ac fe ddylai roi diwedd ar yr ansicrwydd sydd wedi golygu methu ystyried yr effaith ar y Gymraeg o gwbl, rhag ofn nad oedd hynny’n gyfreithlon.
As a result of this amendment, planning authorities must, when relevant, pay attention to considerations relating to the use of the Welsh language in deciding upon planning applications. This is a great step forward, and should end the uncertainty that has led to Welsh language considerations not being given attention for fear that this would not be within the law.

Byddai system o arwyddion o’r fath yn gyfle i fusnesau arddangos yn glir bod y Gymraeg yn rhan o’u hethos gofal cwsmer. Byddai hefyd yn gymhelliant i roi sylw dyledus i’r Gymraeg o fewn y gweithle, ac i werthfawrogi ac annog sgiliau ieithyddol staff.
“Cafes, shops, pubs and a host of other private sector services provide excellent opportunities to use the Welsh language in a community setting. Such a scoring system would provide businesses with an opportunity to display the fact that the Welsh language is part of their customer service ethos. It would also provide an incentive to raise the profile of the Welsh language within the workplace, and to appreciate and encourage staff language skills.

Ar ôl dwy flynedd o lobio dygn ar roi lle i’r Gymraeg yn y Bil Cynllunio, mae ymdrechion Dyfodol i’r Iaith wedi dwyn ffrwyth. Mae’r Gymraeg bellach yn rhan o’r Mesur Cynllunio, ac yn ystyriaeth ar sail cyfraith, a fydd yn gallu trawsnewid y modd y caiff cynlluniau tai eu trin gan awdurdodau lleol yng Nghymru.
After two years of persistent lobbying to give attention to the Welsh language within the Planning Bill, Dyfodol’s efforts have finally come to fruition. The Welsh Language is now part of the Planning Measure and a statutory consideration, which will transform the way in which housing plans will be treated by local authorities in Wales. This was all won through discussion and persuasion.

Mae’r mudiad yn mynnu bod rhaid i Lywodraeth Cymru roi blaenoriaeth i ddulliau o hybu’r iaith dros y deng mlynedd nesaf.
The organisation says that the Welsh Government must prioritise methods of promoting the language in the next ten years.

“Mae codi miloedd o dai diangen yn chwalu cymunedau Cymraeg gan danseilio strategaeth iaith y Llywodraeth ei hun.  Mae rhaid i bob adran o fewn y Llywodraeth roi sylw i effaith eu polisïau ar y Gymraeg.”
“Economic factors must be at the heart of the planning process and we also need to urgently review the unreasonably high housing targets that the Government imposed on local authorities,” said Ms Jones Parry. “Building thousands of unnecessary homes destroys Welsh communities and undermines the Government’s own Welsh language strategy. Each department within the Welsh Government must look at the impact of its policies on the Welsh language.”

“Mae cael rhwydwaith o ganolfannau cymdeithasu a dysgu Cymraeg yn allweddol i roi cyfleoedd siarad ac i ddod â siaradwyr, dysgwyr a phobl ifanc at ei gilydd,” medd Heini Gruffudd, Cadeirydd Dyfodol i’r Iaith.
“Having a network of centres for socialising and learning Welsh is essential in order to provide opportunities to converse and bring Welsh-speakers, learners and young people together,” says Heini Gruffudd, Dyfodol i’r Iaith’s Chair.

“Y Cymro yw’r unig bapur newydd cenedlaethol cyfrwng Cymraeg, ac mae ei oroesiad a’i ffyniant yn cynrychioli cyfraniad allweddol i’n diwylliant ac i fyd y cyfryngau yng Nghymru. Byddwn yn galw ar i’r Llywodraeth roi cefnogaeth ddigonol i’r papur ar ei newydd wedd drwy ganiatáu grant sydd o leiaf yn cyfateb â’r nawdd a roddir i Golwg. Byddwn yn gobeithio y byddai modd rhoi grant brys i ddechrau, i’w ffurfioli maes o law drwy’r Cyngor Llyfrau.”
“Y Cymro is our only national Welsh language newspaper, and its survival and success represents a key contribution to our culture and the Welsh media. We would call upon the Welsh Government to provide adequate support for the newly-relaunched paper by allocating a grant that at least corresponds to that given to Golwg. We would hope that an emergency grant be agreed in the first place, to formalised in due course by the Welsh Books Council.”

“Mae angen i’r polisïau hyn roi blaenoriaeth i bobl ifanc leol, gan sicrhau bod modd i’r ardaloedd ddod yn atyniadol iddynt.  Mae’r diffyg cyfeiriad presennol wedi creu cymunedau sy’n heneiddio, ac eraill sydd wedi’u llethu gan dai gwag, ail gartrefi neu orlif o ddinasoedd .”
“These policies must give priority to young local people and ensure that these areas can become attractive to them. The lack of direction at present has created communities that are ageing and others that are burdened with empty houses, second homes or overspill from the cities..”
