“Fy enw yw Anthony; rwy’n 21 mlwydd oed ac yn byw ar hyn o bryd yn llety â chymorth GISDA ym Mlaenau Ffestiniog. Roeddwn wrth fy modd pan glywais y gallwn i wneud gwaith theatr. Rwy’n hoffi actio ac roeddwn yn ddiolchgar am y cyfle i gymryd rhan yng ngweithdy’r theatr fforwm. Pan ddywedodd Osian ar ddydd Llun y byddai’n cael pob un ohonom i wneud perfformiad erbyn diwedd yr wythnos, doeddwn i ddim yn siŵr, ond yn union fel y dywedodd, gwnaethom roi perfformiad da erbyn dydd Gwener. Roedd y perfformiad cyntaf o flaen 12 o bobl. Ers hynny, rydym wedi perfformio bedair gwaith, o flaen mwy na 300 o bobl, ac wedi cael adborth da. Rydym yn mynd i Lundain y mis nesaf a bydd hwnnw’n brofiad gwych, gan mai hwn yw’r tro cyntaf i mi fynd i Lundain. Mae’r theatr fforwm wedi dangos i mi fy mod yn gallu bod yn hyderus o flaen torf fawr. Mae wedi rhoi digon o hyder i mi wneud cais am waith fel troellwr disgiau hefyd.”
“For me Theatre Forum is one of the best things I have ever done. When I first wanted to do it I was so scared of being in front of a live audience, but after we did the performance in Barcelona I loved it so much the buzz I had after it was incredible. The thing that made me love it so much was when members of the audience came up and swapped places with the main character and that was excellent. Also, we only got a few days to practice but when it came together it was incredible. When I got the opportunity to do it again I didn’t hesitate in doing it. I love every minute of it and for me, the Theatre Forum has totally changed me as a person and for that I am grateful.”

Swm cymharol fechan sydd wedi’u glustnodi ar gyfer hyn ond rydym yn awyddus bod y cyllid hwn yn cael ei flaenoriaethu i’r rhieni ifanc mwyaf bregus gan roi blaenoriaeth i rhieni ifanc sydd yn parhau mewn addysg llawn amser yn yr ysgol.
This New project will provide a holistic bilingual service in a comfortable atmosphere for young parents in Gwynedd. The project seeks to address the lack of provision in disadvantaged and rural areas of the county by trying to emulate some of the principles of the Flying Start program. The will be 3 main partners in the project and by working in a consortium a variety of services and support will be offered. We will draw on the expertise of existing services to support this project. GISDA, Domestic Violence South Wales and SNAP are experienced in working with young people in their own fields.

Rydym yn ddiolchgar iawn i Llywodraeth Cymru, Cyngor Gwynedd a’r Loteri am eu buddsoddiad dros y blynyddoedd hyd yn hyn ac yn gobeithio y gallwn barhau i gydweithio i gyrraedd y nod o ddiweddu digartrefedd, o drechu tlodi ac i roi cyfle cyfartal i bob person ifanc sydd dan anfantais am wahanol resymau.
Like many other charities GISDA is facing extremely challenging times, as a result of severe funding cuts, the level of services that we can offer young people will inevitably be affected. In light of these impending cuts, GISDA sees this as a unique opportunity to showcase the invaluable work that is being done at the present. All of GISDA’s projects contribute to the Welsh Government National agenda to tackle poverty and therefore it’s vitally important that the Investment in our Services continues. The need is there. We are grateful to the Welsh Government, Gwynedd Council and the Lottery as our 3 main funders; we hope we can continue to work together to reach the goal of ending youth homelessness, of tackling poverty and to provide and equal opportunity to all Young people who may at a disadvantage for all sorts of reasons.

Meddyliwch amdanynt fel jig-so dyrys lle mae’n anodd ffitio’r holl ddarnau at ei gilydd. Mae trafod problemau trwy gwnsela’n debyg i roi trefn ar yr holl ddarnau fel ein bod yn gallu dechrau gwneud llun sy’n gwneud mwy o synnwyr i ni.
Sometimes we all have problems that are worrying. Think of a confusing jigsaw when all the pieces are difficult to fit together. Talking about a problem in counselling is like sorting out all the pieces so we can begin to build a picture that makes more sense to us. Sometimes it’s difficult to talk to parents or friends about things that are making us anxious. A counsellor is someone you can talk to in a different way, someone who will listen to you carefully, who will not judge you or tell you what to do. Counselling is about helping you to work things out for yourself, making decisions and choices and helping you to look at things differently. It can help you to feel better about yourself.

Gan na chrëwyd unrhyw gamargraff o realiti’r sefyllfa trwy gyfrwng y perfformiad bu’n sbardun i’r Cyngor edrych eto ar ei addewidion ei hun i bobl ifanc heddiw ac i fynnu bod ei wasanaethau yn delio efo problemau’r dydd trwy roi sylw canolog i’r unigolion sydd wedi eu dal mewn cylchoedd sydd angen eu torri.
As there is no illusion of reality created through the performance, it was a trigger for the Council to review its pledges itself to young people today and to insist that its services are dealing with the problems of the day by addressing the individuals that are stuck in cycles that need to be broken. Codification is not the answer but listening, understanding and responding needs.

Rwyf yn y coleg ym Mangor rwan yn dilyn cwrs Celfyddyd a Dylunio, ac yn gobeithio bod yn athrawes. Rwy’n disgwyl am fflat i fi fy hun ac yn dysgu pethau newydd amdanaf fy hun ac am fywyd. Mae gen i le mawr i ddiolch i GISDA am yr holl gymorth y maent wedi’i roi ac yn dal i’w roi.
Hi, my name is Stephanie Fretwell, I am 17 years old, and GISDA has been part of my life for almost two years. I came across GISDA when a family matter came to light, and my mum needed to move away. I had moved around a lot as a child and felt like I had finally found a place I fitted into. At this point I was settled at school and in the middle of my GCSE’s . it was a hard decision but my mum and I felt it was best that I stayed with some friends to finish my last school year. It didn’t work out so I made my way to GISDA and they offered help and a temporary place in the hostel. I worked to settle in, and also struggled at times but GISDA, family and friends helped me. With the help of GISDA, my boyfriend Osian and my family, I stayed in school and passed all of my GCSE’s, I also made it to my prom. I have moved on to the Fron Fawr flats after proving I’m able to look after myself. I am now in college in Bangor studying Art and Design, and hoping to become a teacher. I’m waiting for a flat of my own and learning new things about myself and life. I owe many thanks to GISDA for all their help and the help that they continue to give. It will be hard to move on from GISDA but I am now confident of doing so, due to the new skills I have learnt.

Mae cyfle i’r rhieni roi adborth yn sicrhau fod y prosiect yn cynnig gwasanaethau a chefnogaeth o’r safon uchaf. Fel y nodwyd rydym yn holi am adborth yn ystod y gefnogaeth ond yn fwy ffurfiol ar ddiwedd y gefnogaeth.
The opportunity for parents to give feedback ensures that the project offers the highest quality of service and support. As noted earlier we do ask for feedback during the support but the project will be asking for a more formal feedback at the end of the support. The result of this feedback will be available at the end of the project’s first year.

GISDA’s yurt was created during the summer months by GISDA’s service users, under the leadership of Hungarian Guyri Jakobfi. During this time the young people got the chance to learn some structure building skills – how to steam and bend the trellis and create the beams for the roof. On the 23rd of December the yurt will be transformed into a magical Santa’s Grotto.
