Caroline Finn, National Dance Company Wales’ Resident Choreographer added "I first met Marcos Morau in 2011 at the Copenhagen International Choreography Competition where we were both prize-winners. Since then, our paths crossed more than once as we went on to create pieces in Copenhagen and in August 2016 we both found ourselves on the Jury of the very same competition. The work by Holt, The Yellow Wallpaper, is a dramatic piece for soprano and orchestra. Rehearsals will soon be getting underway for their first production of the season - an award winning play entitled Flowers From Tunisia by Laurence Allan. The Gallery is transformed into a busy hive of industry, where disembowelled computers and printers are reborn as the robotic prototypes of tomorrow. In the midst of this feverish activity a family of robots roams the galleries: a big mamma robot with her babies trundle backwards and forwards, stopping only when their energy reserves run down. To begin with they heated the spoon with a flame and cooled it in a bucket of water – this softened the metal, making it easier to shape and beat with a hammer. In the meantime, bringing the current season of live entertainment to a close are two great concerts which form part of the Milford Haven Music Festival, and some first class drama from two of Milford’s most popular local amateur companies. Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime is performed by Xenon Liberal Arts, followed by Touch and Go Theatre Company’s production of Calendar Girls for which, it is rumoured, they are producing their very own calendar!

BBC NOW will go on to perform in some of the most iconic concert halls in South America. Within Argentina, two concerts in Buenos Aires in the Teatro Colon (2 & 4 November), a concert in the Teatro El Círculo of Rosario (5 November) and Teatro del Libertador General San Martín in Cordoba (6 November). They will then travel to CorpArtes in Santiago, Chile (8 November) and Teatro Solis in Montevideo, Uruguay (11 November). This landmark tour is being managed by Intermusica.

Next year’s participants are raising the bar once again. From 15 – 18 March 2016, leading dance companies such as MotionHouse, Hofesh Shechter and Ockham’s Razor will be performing, alongside some of the best Welsh dance from performers such as Eddie Ladd and National Dance Company Wales. There is also strong representation from the independent dance sector with emerging companies starting to make an impact on the scene such as Igor and Moreno, Lost Dog and Robbie Synge.

Over 250 writers, either born or based in Wales, submitted their work in July 2016, from which BBC Writersoom along with input from professional television and theatre readers drew up a shortlist of eight. From these eight writers four finalists were selected by a panel of judges, including Julie Gardner MBE, producer and co-founder of Bad Wolf, Kully Thiarai, Artistic Director of National Theatre Wales, Anne Edyvean, Head of BBC Writersoom and Bethan Jones, Executive Producer BBC Drama.

The time capsule will be buried in the garden at Tŷ Newydd Writing Centre in Llanstumdwy, the last home of David Lloyd George, who was the Arms and War Minister, and subsequently Prime Minister during the First World War. Lloyd George is known as the man who brought the war to an end, and was one of the key players in establishing the Versailles Peace Treaty. However, he was also at the forefront of a campaign to persuade young men to enlist in the army, especially in north Wales.

Following on from this comprehensive overview the exhibition at Mostyn Red, Black, Other concentrates on a particular aspect of Nash’s work that has had little attention to date, namely, the presence and function of colour in his work. Colours, particularly earth colours associated with wood in all its forms, are so inherent in the surfaces and textures of his sculptures that, as a dimension of his work they may be overlooked in favour of other more formal considerations. The exhibition seeks to question this tendency, reminding the viewer of the way in which the ongoing legacy of minimalism his work embodies is bound up with questions of colour, whilst also drawing attention to much older ideas such as that of Platonic solids - and by extension, Platonic colours - which have had a critical influence on his practice.
