Before joining the team at GISDA Siân worked as a Social Worker for the Children’s services at Gwynedd Council, she then went on to be a Team manager at the Gwynedd’s Service for Disabled Children. Siân has now been GISDA’s Chief Executive since October 2011 and we hope she stays with us for years to come.

An innovative part to the project is that there are 3 peer mentor being employed to work with the project offeicer sto offer triainng, group work and 1:1 sessions. The Project officers and peer mentors ar working in the three areas of Gwynedd. Staff are located in offices in Caernarfon, Blaenau Ffestiniog and Pwllheli.

The most recent Manager started her post as Administration Manager in November 2014, but the oldest with respect to age! After leaving Caernarfonshire at 7 years old, has lived in a number of regions across Wales and England has come back to her roots and she’s not planning on moving again! A Law Degree from Liverpool University and then working as a Barrister for three years before having a change in career and working for many years in higher education as a manager and lecturer. The she worked as a trainer and a Development Manager in the private and third sector.

This New project will provide a holistic bilingual service in a comfortable atmosphere for young parents in Gwynedd. The project seeks to address the lack of provision in disadvantaged and rural areas of the county by trying to emulate some of the principles of the Flying Start program. The will be 3 main partners in the project and by working in a consortium a variety of services and support will be offered. We will draw on the expertise of existing services to support this project. GISDA, Domestic Violence South Wales and SNAP are experienced in working with young people in their own fields.

As youth homelessness is a contemporary problem, and one we cannot deny responsibility towards, the stories and drama portrayed real situations. It was disturbing to the audience; experience through theater and was almost in your face, and then the direct interaction, pain and trials negative cohort of our young people.

Graddiodd Gethin o brifysgol Lerpwl gyda Gradd mewn Drama ac addysg gorfforol, aeth yna ymlaen i weithio fel tiwtor cymunedol cerddoriaeth a mentor diwydiant cerddoriaeth am 5 mlynedd. Am dair blynedd roedd yn weithiwr prosiect yng Ngherdd Gymunedol Cymru cyn cael y cyfle i ymuno a GISDA.

Gethin graduated from Liverpool University with a degree in Drama and Physical Education, he went on to work as a community music tutor and a music industry mentor for 5 years. For three years he was a project work in Community Music Wales before receiving the opportunity to join GISDA. Born in Tremadog, now Gethin lives in the Caernarfon area. Music is one of Gethin’s big interests; he’s played in many bands over the years and ran a recording company. In his spare time Gethin also presents a radio programme on BBC Radio Cymru.
