‘Mae mis Tachwedd yn gyfnod masnachu hollbwysig i’r cyhoeddwyr ac i Ganolfan Ddosbarthu’r Cyngor Llyfrau,’ meddai Helena. ‘Arbrawf yw’r siop pop-yp, gan obeithio y bydd modd cydweithio â siopau llyfrau eraill yn y dyfodol os bydd y fenter hon yn llwyddo.’
‘Christmas is a crucial trading period for the publishers as well as for the Books Council’s Distribution Centre,’ said Helena. ‘This surprise pop-up is a trial; if it’s a success we hope to join forces with other bookshops and give them the same opportunity in the future.’

'Un o'r storïau mwyaf cyffrous yn hanes ein diwylliant yw datblygiad Cyngor Llyfrau Cymru. Ac yn awr mae gan y Cyngor gorff niferus o Gyfeillion i'w gynnal a'i gefnogi. Braint fawr i unrhyw un yw cael bod yn un o lywyddion y Cyfeillion hyn.
'One of the most exciting stories in the history of our culture is the development of the Welsh Books Council, and now the Council has a strong bond of Friends to support its work. It gives me great pleasure to be one of their Honorary Presidents.'

Pan fo angen (e.e. wrth ystyried cais am grant cyhoeddi tuag at gyhoeddi llyfr dwyieithog), bydd Cyngor Llyfrau Cymru yn cyflwyno'r cais gerbron ei ddau banel, y Panel Grantiau Cyhoeddi Cymraeg a'r Panel Grantiau Cyhoeddi Saesneg.
Where necessary (e.g. where an application is made for a grant towards publishing a bilingual book), the Welsh Books Council will present the publisher’s application to both its English-language Publishing Grants Panel and its Welsh-language Publishing Grants Panel. In such cases, only one application is required. Where a co-edition is planned (i.e. the same book in separate Welsh and English editions), a separate application for each version must be submitted.

Yn gyffredinol, cyfraniadau tuag at golledion disgwyliedig yw grantiau cyhoeddi Cyngor Llyfrau Cymru. Nid yw'r Cyngor yn cynnig benthyciadau. Er hynny, anelir nifer o gynlluniau bellach at gynlluniau cyhoeddi poblogaidd, lle bydd yr elw o'r cynlluniau hynny yn cael ei ailfuddsoddi mewn cyhoeddi llyfrau.
In general, publishing grants are made towards expected deficits. The Welsh Books Council does not offer loans. However, a number of schemes are now targeted at more popular publishing projects, the profits of which will be re-invested in publishing Welsh Books in English. See, in particular, the Advances/Fees to Authors and Illustrators scheme the Marketing Grants scheme for English-language books.

Nofel i'r arddegau yw hon, sy'n adrodd hanes dau frawd, Dylan a Griff, a'r ffordd y maen nhw'n goresgyn damwain drasig sy'n newid eu bywydau am byth. Lleolir y stori yn Efrog Newydd ac Aberystwyth, gyda chyfeiriadau at leoedd ecsotig o gwmpas y byd, a dilynwn y bechgyn wrth iddynt geisio ailadeiladu eu bywydau wedi'r chwalfa fawr.

The story is set in both New York and Aberystwyth, with flashbacks to a range of exotic locations around the world, and follows the boys as they try to rebuild their lives.

And Welsh tenor, Wynne Evans, known for his unique voice  –  and moustache!  –  from the popular Go Compare television advert, is the star of one of the new books in the series, which will hopefully hit the right note with Welsh learners.

Y mae gan y Cyngor Llyfrau staff o 48, y rhan fwyaf ohonynt yn gweithio mewn Adrannau arbenigol sy'n cynnig gwasanaethau i'r fasnach gyhoeddi. Yr Adran fwyaf yw'r Ganolfan Ddosbarthu sy'n cynnig gwasanaeth cyfanwerthu i gyhoeddwyr a llyfrwerthwyr.
The Books Council has a staff of 48 (FTEs), most of whom work in a number of specialist Departments which provide services to the book trade. The largest Department is the Distribution Centre which provides a wholesale distribution service to publishers and booksellers. Unlike the rest of the Council's work, this Centre is self-supporting and does not receive any subsidy from the public purse. The Books Council also has a Publishing Grants Department, which is responsible for distributing grants towards the cost of publishing books, magazines and related material in both English and Welsh.

Nid yw’r syniad fod gwefan yn storio gwybodaeth ar eu cyfrifiadur neu eu dyfais symudol yn dderbyniol gan rai pobl, yn arbennig pan gaiff yr wybodaeth ei storio a’i defnyddio gan drydydd parti heb yn wybod iddynt.
Some people find the idea of a website storing information on their computer or mobile device intrusive, particularly when this information is stored and used by a third party without them knowing. Although this is generally quite harmless you may not, for example, want to see advertising that has been targeted to your interests. If you prefer, it is possible to block some or all cookies, or even to delete cookies that have already been set; but you need to be aware that you might lose some functions of that website.

Rhaid bod gan gyhoeddwyr raglenni cyhoeddi rheolaidd, neu gynlluniau cadarn i sefydlu rhaglen, a'r gallu i werthu eu cynnyrch trwy Gymru gyfan a'r tu hwnt. Nid yw awduron yn cael ymgeisio am grantiau gan y Cyngor Llyfrau.
In general, only publishers in Wales are eligible to receive funding. (Publishers outside Wales may be eligible for an Individual Literary Book Grant (ILBG) where the book is of significant Welsh interest, and where the publisher can demonstrate that no other funding is available to them.) Publishers must have established lists or sound plans for establishing a relevant programme, and the ability to sell their output throughout Wales and beyond. Authors may not apply for grants from the Welsh Books Council. See Information for Authors.

Hefyd, o 2004/05 ymlaen, mae'r Cyngor wedi derbyn cyllid ychwanegol gan Lywodraeth Cynulliad Cymru er mwyn ymestyn ei gefnogaeth i gyhoeddi Saesneg i feysydd newydd, gyda'r pwyslais ar gefnogi ystod ehangach o lyfrau.
Since 2003, the Welsh Books Council has been responsible for schemes formerly administered by the Arts Council of Wales in support of literary publishing in Wales in English as well as in Welsh. In addition, from 2004/05 onwards, it has received additional funds from the Welsh Assembly Government to extend its support for English-language publishing into new areas, with the emphasis on supporting a wider range of books. The Welsh Books Council is now the main source of subsidy for English-language publishing in Wales.
