The excellent knowledge base provides a foundation for numerous other masters’ programmes. Your options for further study are also broad. The field of nanobiology is developing rapidly and the demand for knowledge and insight in this specialist area is growing fast. Through this course you’ll become a subject matter expert and learn to work in a multidisciplinary environment. In addition, the course has solid academic foundations, offering outstanding future potential. This could for example, involve work in a research role, not only in the academic sector, but also in the optics industry or within a medical institute. Possible applications afforded by nanobiology, include the development of methods and techniques that make it possible to tailor medical treatments for a specific individual; technology that identifies heart problems well before any symptoms appear; and the development of a microscope that can track vital molecules in a living cell. The ability to relate to different domains also provides the ideal foundation for a career as a teacher, science journalist or consultant.
