Bir öğrencinin Rap ve Blues müziğin birleşimi olarak pazarlanan R&B’ye bakış açılarının ne olduğunu sorması üzerine Schinnery, bu konudaki memnuniyetsizliğini şu sözlerle dile getirdi: “Blues Afrikan-Amerikalılar’ın ortaya çıkardığı bir müzik türü. O kadar beğenildi ki dünyaya çabuk yayıldı. Alıcısı olduğu görülünce de Blues ismini de kullanarak Rap’i de satmaya başladılar.”Türk gençlerinin ne tür müzikten hoşlandıklarını merak eden üçlü, çoğunluğun verdiği “Blues ve Rock” cevabından hoşnut oldu.

The artists that came to İzmir in the scope of Blues Festival visited İzmir University of Economics. Shemekia Copeland, Terry Evans and Ray Schinnery, the guests of the conference held in University Conference Hall became friendly with the students in a short time. Copeland, Evans and Schinnery answered the questions of the students and they asked questions to the students from time to time. A student asked their point of view about R&B which is the blend of Rap and Blues. Schinnery told his displeasure by saying, “Blues is a music type created by Afro-Americans. It is very much liked so it is spread all around the world quickly. When they saw they were making money from Blues they started to sell Rap by using the name of Blues.” The trio asked what type of music were Turkish youth listening to, and they were pleased with the answer ‘Blues and Rock'. When he learned that Turkish radios were playing Blues music, Copeland said that blues music was being played in very late hours at night in America.

Çankırı Member of Parliament, Foreign Affairs Commission spokesman and AKP Foreign Affairs Vice-President Suat Kınıklıoğlu stated that the base of the plan to be close with Eurasia was laid in the period of Özal and Demirel and it continued in trilateral government. Black Sea and Russia had an important role in trying to establish collaboration with the region again. The negotiations between Putin and Erdoğan in 2004 accelerated this process. Turkey’s attempt after Russia-Georgia war, the visit to Armenia reinforced the relations. There are still some political disagreements. There is instability in trade. When Russia and Turkey are accepted as having the status of two equal countries in the relations with Russia, the problems can be solved faster.”
