In Harutyun Khachatryan’s opinion one of the main problems of the contemporary Armenian cinema is the fact, that there almost aren’t professional screenwriters, screenplays with powerful dramatics, andthe directors often write scripts by themselves. As a result the films come out weak, without dramatic development.

Մասնագիտությամբ մաթեմատիկ Տիրան Կարապետյանն էլ մտահոգվում է, որ հայկական կինոյի վիճակը առողջ չէ, չկան մասնագետներ, դասախոսներ ու չկա կինոդպրոց, ինչն էլ թույլ չի տալիս ֆիլմերը շուկա դուրս բերել: Նրա հեղինակած “Լռություն” ֆիլմը Վրաստանում ազգային փոքրամասնությունների նկատմամբ վրաց պետության վերաբերմունքի պատկերումն է. “Ֆիլմով ուզում եմ ցույց տալ այն մղձավանջը, որ տեղի է ունենում մեր օրերում հատկապես մեր հողից հեռու մարդկանց հետ, որոնք կտրված են ազգից և որոնց ավելի հեշտ է դառնում կտրել հայ լինելուց”, - ասում է երիտասարդ ռեժիսորը:

A mathematician by background, Tiran Karapetyan worries that the situation of Armenian cinema is not healthy: there are neither professionals, nor instructors and cinema school, which does not allow to market the films. His film “Silence” is the depiction of the attitude of the Georgian Government towards the national minorities in Georgia. “I want to show with the film the nightmare, which takes place in our days, especially with the people far away from our land, who are cut off from the nation, and who are easier to be cut off from their Armenian identity,” says the young director.

“In the recent years 103-104 films were banned, as in Iran the destiny of cinema is decided by the ideology propaganda.” About Iranian national cinematography Dariush said, “There is basically no entertainment in Iran, circuses, ballets, cabarets, bars, everything is banned by the regime. The government would wish to wipe out all cinematography. The cinema that is really developing and is being awarded throughout the world is unaccepted for the Iranian government. They invest lots of money for the creation of propaganda movies, but usually these movies fail”. He added that Iranians and Armenians have lots in common, they are similar with their characters, they like art and poetry. In his opinion, nowadays because of the technological simplicity literature and poetry is created through cinema. “There is love towards humanity in my films, and it is important to be passed to the audience”, said the Iranian Film director Dariush Mehrjui.
