Street Days touches upon the issue of the addicted in Georgia. “It is a big problem for Georgia, particularly starting from the 90th, when many were addicted to drugs and it became popular”, said the director. “The main character of the film is a Georgian famous designer. A mathematician by background, Tiran Karapetyan worries that the situation of Armenian cinema is not healthy: there are neither professionals, nor instructors and cinema school, which does not allow to market the films. His film “Silence” is the depiction of the attitude of the Georgian Government towards the national minorities in Georgia. “I want to show with the film the nightmare, which takes place in our days, especially with the people far away from our land, who are cut off from the nation, and who are easier to be cut off from their Armenian identity,” says the young director.

All the participating directors will have the chance to tie the name of their film on the tree and at the end of the festival one of the movies will be selected at random to gain a special prize of luck.

In 1976 when Sergei Parajanov was imprisoned, he carved figures with his fingernails on the aluminum lids of milk bottles and called them "Thalers". Today they are in Yerevan, in the museum of S. Parajanov. A Prize represents a silver copy of one of these coins.
