On February 13th, a Youth Speak forum was held in Yerevan at the American University of Armenia, an event initiated by the AIESEC youth organization Armenia branch with the support of the UN Armenia Office. Over 300 young people came together to learn about the United Nations newly adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), raise their concerns and share their experiences in the related fields from poverty eradication to decent work, from education to health, from business to IT, from water to taxi services, communication to tourism development.

A stakeholder workshop was organized within the framework of the “Support to the Government of Armenia in elaboration and implementation of IPM program for potato moth and mole control” project implemented by Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN on Farmer Field Schools as a possible method for advisors, extension service staff and researchers to enhance farmers capacities for sustainable crop production. The aim of the workshop was to present the current state of project implementation as well as the role and importance of Farmer Field Schools in improving farmers’ capacities and in organizing sustainable crop production. The workshop was also aimed at identifying applicable and acceptable models of Farmer Field Schools in Armenia through discussions and recommendations.
