This makes them spend more time at home and sitting in one place for hours on end, which reduces their physical activity levels substantially and makes them prone to lifestyle diseases like diabetes, hypertension and most importantly, obesity or excessive weight gain. Addiction to technology can also make children lonely, depressed and withdrawn. That’s why we as parents should encourage them to go out and play – let them enjoy the fresh air, soak up some sunshine, explore nature, make friends, and grow up to be healthy, happy individuals.
