En conséquence, l’Alliance publiera son premier rapport sur l’état d’avancement de l’action pour les océans et le climat lors de la journée d’action pour les océans de la CCNUCC COP 23.

This strategy intends to guide the work on afro descendant women carried out by UN Women in Latin America and the Caribbean. Its purpose is twofold. On the one hand, it intends to support the work of UN Women LAC in the implementation of and follow up to normative processes specifically related to afro descendent women. Some of these are the International Decade on Afro Descendent People, as well as those related to women’s human rights and women’s empowerment (CEDAW, Beijing Platform for Action, Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals, Montevideo Consensus, among others). On the other hand, the strategy intends to inform the achievement of competency within UN Women LAC programmatic work to strategically prioritize afro descendant women in relevant programmatic and coordination initiatives and support programmatic expansion in all areas of work. The end goal is to prioritize the work with women of African descent as part of UN Women normative, programmatic and coordination work so as to support them in fulfilling their rights.

Por otro lado, la estrategia intenta incorporar los logros en esta materia al trabajo programático de ONU Mujeres LAC con el fin de priorizar estratégicamente a las mujeres afrodescendientes en las iniciativas programáticas y de coordinación relevantes y respaldar la expansión programática en todas las áreas de trabajo. Su fin último consiste en priorizar el trabajo con las mujeres afrodescendientes como parte del trabajo normativo, programático y de coordinación de ONU Mujeres para colaborar en la realización de sus derechos.
