Der Talkessel ist gänzlich unberührt und wird von zahlreichen kleinen Wasserläufen durchzogen. Gleichermaßen gut erreichbar sowohl von Kärnten also auch von der Steiermark ist die Weinebene ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel für Jung und Alt.

The “Goldhaube” radome belonging to the Austrian federal army stands on the Große Speikkogel peak. According to how you look at it, this can be seen as a ruination of nature or else as a futuristic enrichment. In any case, the summit cross at the eastern edge looks small and inconspicuous beside the enormous concrete construction. But it just makes the view on clear days all the more marvellous, as the Speikkogel is the highest elevation in the Koralm pastureland and stands exactly between the federal provinces of Carinthia and Styria, thus offering a fantastic vantage point over the valleys. The Koralmkar nature reserve stretches out just at its feet. The valley basin is completley untouched and is crossed by numerous little watercourses. The Weinebene plateau, a popular excursion destination for young and old alike, is equally easy to reach either from Carinthia or from Styria. Its appearance is however dominated by the numerous ski lifts and the snow fences that are supposed to prevent the snow being shifted by the wind. The little Petrus chapel, dedicated to long-distance hikers, is a very pretty sight. All 10 Austrian long-distance trails are mentioned. The onward trail leaves the tourist paths again to arrive at the wonderful pastureland area. On the Wildbachsattel pass, the grass reaches a considerable altitude and in the seclusion of the hollow with moorland and isolated trees, a board belonging to the Koralm crystal trail indicates that bears and wolves were native to this area until the late 19th century. The "Wolfstein" (wolf stone) marks the spot at which the last wolf in the region is said to have been shot on 4 March 1914. But who knows, perhaps wolves and bears have long since been roaming the region again. Like the Weinebene plateau, the Hebalm meadow is a well-known skiing area, but it has one other special feature: the "Dom des Waldes" (forest cathedral). This is a Land-Art-Project, unique in Europe, created by visual artists Anne and Peter Knoll. It is growing and living eco-architecture. The forest cathedral stands for security in the forest. An acessible, low-leven wooden board-walk was built in an approx. 80 year-old forest, which follows the exact dimensions of the ground plan of the cathedral in Milan.

Le Radôme « Goldhaube » appartenant à l’armée autrichienne se trouve sur le pic Große Speikkogel. Suivant comment on le regarde on peut penser qu’il s’agit d’une nuisance pour le paysage ou alors d’un plus futuriste. Dans tous les cas, la croix du sommet sur le côté est semble petite et assez discrète à côté de cette énorme construction de béton. Mais par temps dégagé la vue n’en est que plus belle, étant donné que le Speikkogel est le point culminant du Koralm et se situe exactement entre les provinces de Carinthie et de Styrie, offrant ainsi un point d’observation fantastique sur les vallées. La réserve naturelle de Koralmkar se trouve juste à son pied. Le bassin de la vallée est intouché par l’homme. Plusieurs petits cours d’eau le traverse. Le plateau de Weinebene, une destination d’excursion appréciée des jeunes et moins jeunes, est tout aussi facile d’accès depuis la Carinthie et la Styrie. Son apparence est toutefois dominée par de nombreuses remontées mécaniques et les para-neiges censés empêcher la neige d’être soufflée par le vent. La petite chapelle de Petrus, destinée aux randonneurs de longue distance, est très jolie. Les dix sentiers de grande randonnée autrichiens y sont mentionnés. Le sentier quitte à nouveau les sentiers touristiques pour arriver dans la magnifique zone de pâturage. Au col de Wildbachsattel, l’herbe monte jusqu’à une altitude considérable et, dans l’isolement du creux avec une tourbière et des arbres isolés, un panneau appartenant au sentier de cristal de Koralm indique que les ours et les loups habitèrent cette région jusqu’à la fin du 19ème siècle. Le « Wolfstein » (pierre du loup) marquerait l’endroit où le dernier loup de la région fut tiré, le 4 mars 1914. Mais qui sait, peut-être que loups et ours arpentent à nouveau les lieux depuis longtemps. Comme le plateau de Weinebene, l’alpage de Hebalm est un domaine skiable bien connu, mais avec une caractéristique en plus : le « Dom des Waldes » (cathédrale de la forêt). Il s’agit du projet Land-Art-Project, unique en Europe, créé par les artistes visuels Anne et Peter Knoll. Il s’agit d’une éco-architecture vivante et en évolution. La cathédrale sert à la sécurité dans la forêt. Une promenade en bois facile d’accès a été construite dans cette forêt âgée d’environ 80 ans. Cette promenade suit exactement les dimensions du plan de la cathédrale de Milan.

Sul Großer Speikkogel si trova la cupola radar dell’esercito austriaco, nota come "Goldhaube". A seconda della prospettiva può essere vista come scempio ambientale o come futuristico arricchimento del paesaggio. Sta di fatto che, accanto alle enormi costruzioni di cemento, la croce sull’estremità orientale della vetta sembra piccola e quasi invisibile. Nei giorni sereni la vista è assolutamente grandiosa, poiché lo Speikkogel, il maggior rilievo del comprensorio dell’alpe Koralm si trova proprio tra la Carinzia e la Stiria e offre uno splendido panorama sulle valli. Proprio ai suoi piedi si estende l’area protetta "Koralmkar". La conca, del tutto incontaminata, viene attraversata da numerosi piccoli corsi d’acqua. Facilmente accessibile sia dalla Carinzia che dalla Stiria è la zona Weinebene, che attrae escursionisti di tutte le età. Il paesaggio è però dominato dai numerosi impianti di risalita e dalle barriere antineve che servono per limitare gli spostamenti della neve. Molto bella è la cappellina di S. Pietro, dedicata agli escursionisti di lunga percorrenza, in cui vengono menzionati tutti e 10 i sentieri di lunga percorrenza austriaci. Sulla prosecuzione del sentiero si lasciano i sentieri turistici e si arriva tra splendidi alpeggi. Sulla sella Wildbachsattel alcune erbe arrivano a un’altitudine considerevole. Nella conca isolata caratterizzata da torbiere con qualche alberi sparso una tavola illustrativa del sentiero Koram-Kristall-Trail fa notare che fino alla fine del XIX secolo la zona era popolata da lupi e orsi. Il "Wolfstein" (pietra del lupo) segna il punto in cui il 4 marzo 1914 venne ucciso probabilmente l’ultimo lupo della regione. Ma chissà, la zona potrebbe essere da tempo nuovamente popolata da orsi e lupi. Anche l’Hebalm è nota, come la Weinebene, come comprensorio sciistico, ma vanta anche un’altra particolarità: il "Dom des Waldes" (Duomo del bosco). Si tratta di un progetto di Land Art, unico in Europa, degli artisti Anne e Peter Knoll. Si tratta di bioarchitettura vivente. Il Duomo del bosco vuole rappresentare il senso di protezione che il bosco può dare. Sul suolo di un bosco di ca. 80 anni è stata collocata una passerella di legno che ricalca fedelmente la pianta del Duomo di Milano e può essere percorsa liberamente.

Na vzpetini Großer Speikkogel stoji radarska kupola avstrijske državne vojske, ki jo imenujejo tudi „zlata kupola“. Glede na to, kako to dojemamo, lahko rečemo, da radar naravo kazi, ali pa gre za futuristično pridobitev. Križ na vzhodnem robu vrha vzpetine nam spričo ogromnih betonskih zgradb vsekakor deluje majhno in neopazno. Toliko bolj impresiven pa je ob lepem vremenu razgled z vrha, kajti Speikkogel kot najvišja vzpetina planine Koralm stoji točno med zveznima deželama Koroško in Štajersko, in z njega se nam ponuja čudovit razgled v doline. Točno ob njegovem vznožju se razprostira naravni rezervat "Koralmkar". Kotlina je povsem nedotaknjena in je prepredena s številnimi majhnimi vodotoki. Prav tako dobro dostopno, tako iz koroške kot iz štajerske strani, je tudi sedlo Weinebene, ki je priljubljena izletniška točka za mlado in staro. Njegovo podobo pa v glavnem krojijo številne vlečnice, zaščitne ograje pred snežnimi zameti. Zelo lepo si je ogledati majhno kapelico „Sv. Petra“ ("Petruskapelle"), ki je posvečena treking pohodnikom oz. trekerjem (treking: popotovanje na večje razdalje, navadno peš po težje dostopnem, hribovitem svetu-op.prev.) . Vseh 10 avstrijskih treking poti je zabeleženih. V nadaljevanju poti spet zapustimo turistične potke in prispemo v čudovito planinsko pokrajino. Na sedlu Wildbachsattel zrastejo trave dokaj visoko, in v odmaknjeni kotanji z barjanskimi tlemi in posamičnimi drevesi nas razgledna tabla pohodniške poti Koralm-Kristall-Trail opozarja na to, da na tem območju do konca 19. stoletja domovali tudi medvedje in volkovi. Na "Wolfsteinu" je označeno mesto, kjer so 4. marca 1914 baje uplenili zadnjega volka v te pokrajini. Ampak kdove, če po tej pokrajini že kar nekaj časa spet ne pohajkujejo volkovi in medvedje? Podobno kot Weinebene je tudi planina Hebalm znano smučarsko središče, tukaj pa naletimo še na eno posebnost: "Dom des Waldes " („stolnico gozda“). To je edinstven projekt upodabljajočih umetnikov Anne in Petra Knolla, ki je primer rastoče in živahne ekoarhitekture. „Dom des Waldes“ je sinonim za varnost v gozdu. V ca. 80-letnem gozdu so malo nad tlemi zgradili leseno prehodno varnostno brv, ki je v tlorisu do potankosti identična milanski stolnici.
