What is it about Bali that makes it the enchanting place it is? It is the people with their affable, gentle ways and their desire to make you 'feel at home'. Our trip to Bali was organised for our son's wedding and we chose Villa Seriska. After a long journey from Ireland we were met at Bali airport by the Villa's friendly driver, Tomas, who brought us quickly to our destination - Villa Seriska, passing through teeming numbers of scooters and, what seemed to us, chaotic traffic. On our arrival, we were met by a team of friendly, smiling faces - the owner, Neilish, his staff (Supri, Madé, Niluh, Cynthia and Ketut). Putra managed all requests with a smile. All were clearly ready and willing to look after our every need. The welcome was just full of warmth. It was the same until we had to say good bye and be driven back to Bali airport for our return journey to Ireland. In the meantime, our days (yes, it was hot!) were filled with happy, joyful experiences. The villa was just always perfectly clean and tidy, a beautiful swimming pool to cool off, excellent air conditioning, breakfast served up each morning - and it was beautiful, lots of fruit to begin, followed by an exceptionally well cooked and beautifully presented eggs (whatever way you wanted them), bacon, tomato and toast and lovely Bali coffee or tea. The Seriska Villas are situated down a lane from the main thoroughfare - a little oasis of rest and relaxation. I will carry with me forever the memory of the staff who were there 'for you' - no fuss, just a natural delight in making you feel your stay was happy - a lovely presence without being 'in your face'. Nelish has a 'way' about him with guests and knows how to treat people with kindness. He became a friend, and all his staff oozed his approach. There was no feeling that this was 'business only'. On the contrary, everything about Villa Seriska was people-centred and attention to detail was just out of this world. Twelve memorable days.
