When you water, it needs to reach all the way down to the roots. Overly packed soil or soil unfavourable to the flow of water is going to inhibit the distribution of nutrients into your plants. Soil optimum for growing cannabis should provide ample drainage and allow for rapid root growth. It should have a high air-water ratio.

Were it not for the error of law on the question of intent, the finding of the trial judge on this issue would not alone have given the Crown a right of appeal: see Criminal Code, s. 584 (1) (a). The reasons at the trial also disclose a serious error against the accused in the statement that “in law everyone is presumed to intend the natural and reasonable consequences of his act”, but in view of the trial judge’s verdict, this misdirection had no adverse effect.

Then there's also the indirect stuff. When the legal sanctions against discrimination are vigorously and imaginatively used, it helps to create a climate favourable to human rights and inimical to hatred in the community. The more you see of that, the more helpful it is, and I would encourage that.

According to John Clark, Director of Marketing, when James River opened its doors for business in 2003, “The market for most casualty and professional liability lines was in the second half of an all-too-short, hard-market cycle. Like most companies, our overall mission is to deliver consistently high returns on equity to our investors/shareholders by building the most profitable Excess and Surplus lines company in the market.”

The discovery of adverse reactions (ARs) to a drug is part of the pre-market and post-market stages of the drug licensing process. An AR is an undesirable effect to a drug that is discovered during clinical trials or after a drug is released on the market. ARs may occur under normal conditions of use of the drug. An adverse event, as opposed to an adverse reaction, can be any unfavorable and unintended sign, symptom or disease temporally associated with the use of a medicinal product and which does not necessarily have to have a causal relationship with this treatment. More information about ARs is available on the MedEffect Website

Salaried workers who are protected against dismissal (such as pregnant women, salaried workers on parental leave or leave for family reasons and staff delegates) may not have their employment contracts significantly modified in a manner unfavourable to them throughout the entire period they are protected. As a significant amendment to an employment contract is considered as similar to dismissal, it must be considered null and void if it concerns protected salaried workers. Salaried workers on parental leave may only have their employment contracts significantly amended due to serious misconduct.

Organic agricultural systems are characterized by large biodiversity and high complexity. Biodiversity is often associated with a wide variety of entomophagous insects, which allows better natural insect pest control than in conventional systems. This contribution is not only limited to the farm itself. Studies at the landscape level have shown that non-cultivated areas may act as reservoirs for beneficial insects such as predators and parasitoids. However, biodiversity is not always effective at maintaining pests below the economic threshold. Consequently, prevention is a key component in insect pest management in organic crops. Prevention will aim to make the environment favourable to natural enemies but unfavourable to insect pests. Agricultural practices, such as crop rotation and choice of cultivars are key elements when an integrated pest management approach is applied to an organic system. Along with agricultural practices and precautionary measures, some tools such as row covers, biopesticides and beneficial insects are also available as a last resort. However, the challenge is still overwhelming. Organic agroecosystems are complex and require much more research to understand the mechanisms which will allow natural control to become more efficient.

Together, these trends have led to the establishment of a new economic model, a new form of capitalism, which by some is called financial globalisation, some call it financial capitalism and others speak of shareholder capitalism. However you name it, one thing is clear: whereas in previous times financial markets had a subordinate and instrumental role to the real economy, this relationship has been turned around. The strong hold of “financial interests” on the “real” economy increased tremendously by making all economic activities subservient to profits in the financial markets and creating financial instruments to make profits only through the financial markets, while at the same time failing to serve sustainable production and farming, and stable savings by ‘normal’ customers. The logics and dynamics of short-term profit maximization have penetrated into all pores of economic and social life. The perfect mobility of financial capital, which is the result of neoliberal policies, plays a crucial role in the world economy today. It creates global competition not only among multinational firms, but also among nation states, their social and fiscal systems and among workers of different parts of the planet. By creating a power relationship in favor of corporations relative to their workers, this domination of capital has led to rising inequalities, to decreasing labor, social and environmental standards as well as to the privatisation of public goods and services.
