E poi, dovunque, è possibile imbattersi in reperti le cui origini si perdono nella notte dei tempi e che, per la sola Pozzuoli, ad esempio, comprendono: il Serapeo, l’Anfiteatro Flavio (secondo solo a quello di Capua ed al celebre Colosseo), le Terme e lo Stadio.

Campi Flegrei - Splendid Volcanic Scenarios and Archaeological areas are filled with suprises Past and present, Christian piety and suggestion of ancient myths, natural and archaeological beauties find the best synthesis at Campi Flegrei (Phlegraean Fields). In this area, not far from Naples, one can visit charming places such as Pozzuoli, Cuma , Capo Miseno and Bacoli. Among the extraordinary spectacles admired, there are the lunar scenarios of the Solfatara (where some volcanic phenomena can still be seen similar to those that made the nearby Vesuvius famous) and most relaxing ones around the Lago d’Averno (Lake of Averno – according to the classical mythology, marked the entrance to the Underworld), dominated by the elegant Vanvitellian Royal Hunting Lodge. It is also possible to verify how ‘pacific’ is the living of the cult of San Gennaro (martyrized in Pozzuoli, later became the patron Saint of Naples) and the recollection of ancient myths like the one of Sibilla Cumana (prophetess, who gave her responses through leaves). Everywhere within this area one is capable of observing the findings which origins are lost in time and which, within Pozzuoli region, for example, includes: the Temple of Serapis, the Flavian Amphitheatre (second only to the one of Capua and to the world famous Coliseum), the Thermal Baths and the Stadium. Not less rich in charming ruins is the Archaeological Park of Cuma, where one can admire the overshadowing Arco Felice, the Acropolis and the remains of temples, dedicated to Apollo and Jupiter. At Baia, instead, besides a magnificent and imposing 16th century castle, dominating the coast, other interesting buildings are testimonials to the Roman Age. Around an old Imperial Palatium – not far from the Temples where Mercury, Venus and Diana were worshipped – gravitates, in fact, a colossal thermal complex, which includes the Terme Inferiori, those of Sosandra, Venus and Mercury. Finally, Bacoli, (still visible the remains of the famous Piscina Mirabile and the ground of cisterns, known as “Cento Camerelle”) and Capo Miseno geographically close by the west side of the Gulf of Naples. There, tourists and visitors can admire superb landscapes.
