Le premier club portant cette enseigne a été fondé en 2001 rue Krakowska. Il est vite devenu l’endroit des rencontres des jeunes écrivains, surtout grâce au propriétaire PIO, c’est à dire Piotr Kaliński. Les rencontres d’auteurs se prolongeaient souvent tard dans la nuit en intégrant le milieu littéraire. Après son déménagement rue Mostowa, « Lokator » a pris un visage plus calme mais non moins intéressant. C’est un café-librairie, où l’on peut trouver des livres rarement accessibles dans les grands réseaux, ainsi qu’une riche sélection de livres pour enfants. PIO Kaliński y a son atelier graphique. Cette initiative est accompagnée d’une maison d’édition qui publie les livres des auteurs comme Nicolas Presl, Georges Perec, Fernando Pessoa, Ida Linde, Jerzy Franczak ou Marta Eloy Cichocka.

Das erste Lokal unter diesem Schild wurde 2001 in der Krakowska-Straße gegründet. Schnell wurde es zu einem Treffpunkt junger Literaten, insbesondere durch ihren Eigentümer PIO – Piotr Kaliński. Neben Autorenlesungen fanden hier ganznächtige Feten statt, bei denen sich die Krakauer Literaturszene integrierte. Nach dem Umzug in die Mostowa-Straße zeigt das Lokal ein ruhigeres, wenn auch nicht weniger interessantes Gesicht. Es ist Café und Buchhandlung zugleich. Hier findet man Titel, die sonst schwer zu finden sind, unter anderem auch eine sorgfältig zusammengestellte Auswahl von Kinderbüchern. PIO Kaliński hat hier sein Grafik-Atelier. Ein integraler Bestandteil des ganzen Unternehmens ist der Verlag, der Bücher solcher Autoren wie Nicolas Presl, Georges Perec, Fernando Pessoa, Ida Linde, Jerzy Franczak, Marta Eloy Cichocka herausgibt.
