A resolution on the EU–Mauritania FPA, jointly tabled by the five most important political groups in the European Parliament, was adopted at the last EP plenary. The resolution highlights the fact that ‘the FPA has contributed to the overexploitation of some stocks, particularly octopus, and has therefore reduced fishing opportunities for Mauritanian fishermen and given the EU industry a competitive advantage as a result of subsidised access fees for EU vessels’.

Une résolution sur l’Accord de partenariat pêche UE-Mauritanie, élaborée conjointement par les cinq groupes politiques les plus importants du Parlement européen, a été adoptée lors de sa dernière séance plénière. La résolution souligne que « l’APP a contribué à la surexploitation de certains stocks, en particulier le stock de poulpe, et a donc réduit les possibilités de pêche des pêcheurs mauritaniens tout en donnant à l’industrie européenne un avantage concurrentiel grâce au subventionnement des droits d’accès des navires de l’UE ». La résolution insiste donc sur le fait que « tout accès négocié pour permettre aux navires européens de pêcher dans les eaux mauritaniennes doit être basé sur le principe des stocks excédentaires […]. Dans le cas où une réduction de l’effort s’avérerait nécessaire, les flottes en provenance de pays tiers (d’Europe ou d’ailleurs) responsables des dégradations devraient être les premières à subir cette réduction ». Elle a également insisté sur la nécessité de « recevoir des données fiables sur les possibilités de pêche et sur les captures des pays tiers dans les eaux mauritaniennes afin d’être en mesure d’identifier les ressources excédentaires et sur la nécessité que, dans le cas de stocks partagés avec d’autres États ouest-africains, les niveaux d’accès de pêche en Mauritanie soient négociés en tenant compte des niveaux de pêche dans les autres États ».

Het projectvoorstel wil de studie van politiek impressiemanagement in Vlaanderen wetenschappelijk op de kaart zetten binnen de internationale wetenschappelijke context. Recente onderzoeksmodellen en experimenten betreffende de gebruikte soundbites (metaforen in de media), het uiterlijk van de politici, en hun persoonlijkheidsprofielen via de media worden toegepast om het impressiemanagement van Vlaamse politici en politieke partijen vast te stellen. Bijzondere aandacht zal daarbij besteed worden aan de verkiezingsperiodes.
