On 20 December 2012, the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with Hanns Seidel Foundation, organized at the "Rogner" hotel, the conference on "Public Diplomacy in the digital era." The conference was attended by civil society representatives, ambassadors, diplomats, journalists and other guests. Invited to the conference was also the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mrs. Carola Müller-Holtkemper, who, delivered a speech to the audience as well. The opening speech was held by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Edmond Panariti, who, talking about the role of media and civil society in an open democratic society, emphasized the important and irreplaceable role of public diplomacy in the digital era, as well as the close cooperation of the Ministry which he chairs with various non-governmental actors, such as NGOs, serving the good functioning of an open democratic society and integrating processes of the country.
