J'ai de très nombreux bons souvenirs de l'ONÉ; j'ai appris beaucoup et j'ai beaucoup mûri en tant que gestionnaire. Mais l'un des moments amusants dont je me souviens, c'est que je travaillais périodiquement avec Steve Berthelet et nous étions à l'étage de la Direction, en train d'organiser un cours de formation si ma mémoire est bonne. Steve se lançait souvent dans une sorte de tirades ou de sketchs divertissants mais ce jour-là, il a décidé d'imiter M. Priddle. Eh bien, après cinq ou dix minutes, je ne pouvais plus travailler; je me tordais de rire. On a ramassé nos affaires et on s'est retrouvés dans le couloir de l'étage de la Direction et qui a-t-on vu debout dans le couloir si ce n'était pas M. Priddle? Il était en train d'écouter toute l'affaire; on savait que Steve l'avait imité parfaitement. Il nous a fait suer pendant au moins cinq minutes avant de nous laisser aller sans réprimandes. C'était bien typique de M. Priddle qui était plein d'humour. On savait qu'on avait des ennuis mais des ennuis un peu drôles. Pour terminer, je veux juste souhaiter à tout le monde à l'ONÉ un joyeux 50e et bonne chance pour les prochains cinquante ans.

Personalisierte Filteralgorithmen erzeugen so eine digitale Echokammer, die bereits bestehende Meinungen und Interessen bestärkt und davon abweichende Informationen ausblendet. Der Internet-Aktivist und Autor Eli Pariser kreierte für dieses Phänomen die Bezeichnung .Filter Bubble.. Pariser warnt in seinem gleichnamigen Buch davor, dass die Filter Bubble uns von neuen Ideen, Kontakten und Informationen ausschliesst und so unsere Weltsicht verengt. Dies wirkt sich negativ auf die Gesellschaft aus, da ein gesamtgesellschaftlicher Diskurs erschwert wird und die Bürger anfälliger werden für Propaganda und Manipulation. In einer Welt, die nur aus Bekanntem besteht, gibt es nichts Neues mehr zu lernen. Stattdessen werden wir laufend mit unseren eigenen Ideen indoktriniert.
